This is an important preparation pose for pincha, and also the most common pose to launch into pincha.

Dolphin pose or Ardha Pincha Mayurasana is a great stretch for the hamstrings and calves and opens up the shoulders.

Dolphin can be extended by raising one leg up, making it a one-legged dolphin.

Another variation is Dorsal Fin (Forrest Yoga), which is a dolphin on one arm and opposite leg, and binding with the aerial limbs.
